COMPASS/Beidou

[edit]

COMPASS and Beidou are part of the same system : [1]

Width

[edit]

Denelson83 (talk · contribs) has twice reverted changes by different editors to use the default navbox width here. When stacked with other navbox templates it is important that this template uses the standard width; there doesn't appear to be a good argument for why it should use auto-width. The width override should be removed. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 10:43, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fully agree, stumbled upon Galileo (satellite navigation) and it is very messy not to use default width. Yes it does mean there's a little more white space (not unusual for navboxes), but if it's that much of a problem just include an image. The navbox documentation states,
"Style parameters: Styles are generally not recommended as to maintain consistency among templates and pages in Wikipedia. However, the option to modify styles is given."
I've checked through the template's uses and I can see no example of a novel use that would require it to be this size so article consistency should come first. ChiZeroOne (talk) 08:05, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cicada

[edit]

Shouldn't we add Cicada (satellite navigation system), also spelled Tsikada, in the template? --Edcolins (talk) 19:37, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

COMPASS

[edit]

The name BeiDou(COMPASS)Navigation Satellite System or COMPASS has been abandoned (since Dec. 2012), offical name of Beidou-2 is BeiDou Navigation Satellite System or BDS.Daveduv (talk) 23:51, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
